Job Summary
Responsible for administering the Capital Tracking process and assisting with the development and administration of the system's Capital Budget process.
Job Specific Duties
- Coordinates the capital tracking process including preparation of agenda, collateral materials, and minutes for biweekly Capital Committee Meetings, processing of Committee-approved capital requests in Axiom & PeopleSoft, regular reconciliation of capital tracking information in Axiom & PeopleSoft, periodic reporting of capital request approvals compared to capital budget and actual capital spending, etc.
- Assists Manager & Director with the preparation of the annual capital budget, including gathering and entering relevant input, attending Capital Budget meetings, system rollover and maintenance, report preparation, etc.
- Maintains tables, reports, and utilities in the Axiom system related to capital planning and capital tracking.
- Provides written and verbal instruction and support to department leaders regarding capital planning and capital tracking processes and procedures.
- Collaborates effectively with other Decision Support and Finance Division staff where the capital planning & tracking functions intersect with other functions such as purchasing, accounts payable, and asset register maintenance.
- Actively seeks, proposes, and implements improvements and efficiencies in the capital planning & capital tracking processes.
Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field (OR) Bachelor's Degree in unrelated field and 5 years of relevant work experience
- 4-7 years of Business, Finance, Accounting or related field experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Acute care healthcare experience preferred
- Understanding of hospital operations and business functions
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel
- Experience with Axiom capital tracking and capital planning software preferred
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with all levels of staff across the organization
- Conscientious attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure to manage and meet deadlines
