Outstanding Opportunity for Pediatric Emergency Medicine Nocturnist to Join
Prestigious Children’s Health System in South Florida


Nicklaus Children’s Health System and Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the health system’s physician-led multispecialty group practice, have an opportunity for a board-certified or board-eligible (BC/BE) Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship trained physician to provide Nocturnist clinical services at Baptist Homestead Hospital (Homestead, FL) and Baptist Main Hospital (Miami, FL). Both hospital locations are part of the Community-Based Emergency Medicine coverage model.

Position Overview

The selected physician will hold Medical Staff Privileges at both Baptist Main Hospital and Baptist Homestead Hospital, as well as Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. However, clinical responsibilities will primarily be scheduled at the Homestead campus, with periodic coverage at Baptist Hospital as needed. Hours: 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. Shifts: 10–12 per month Scheduling: No block scheduling Practice Overview Physicians employed by Nicklaus Children's Pediatric Specialists provide coverage at the Baptist Hospital and Homestead Hospital pediatric emergency departments. The nocturnist will be primarily assigned to Baptist Homestead, providing essential overnight and peak need support.

  • Annual Visits: 16,980
  • Average Daily Census: 47
  • Beds: 9 ED beds + 5 overflow beds
  • LWBS: 1.3% Staffing (Homestead Hospital)
  • 3 PEM physicians
  • 4 pediatricians
  • 10 rotating PEM physicians
  • 10 Nicklaus Children’s PEM physicians from the main ED provide 2–4 shifts per month
