Job Summary:
Provides support for Cath Lab patients under the direction and the supervision of the Administrative Director, Supervisor and Nurses.
 
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment.

Qualifications

Job Specific Duties:
  • Cleans and disinfects rooms, furniture, fixtures, and equipment between surgical procedures. Makes beds, removes soiled linen, trash and relines all waste and laundry containers.
  • Responsible for cleaning and returning equipment to storage.
  • Provides comfort and support for preoperative patients by demonstrating sensitivity to patient’s care and privacy.
  • Responds to questions from patients, families, and others in a courteous and knowledgeable manner.
  • Performs indirect patient care, assists with lifting and positioning of the patient or holding limbs as needed for procedure under the supervision of the Nurse.
  • Transports patients as directed by the Clinical Coordinator or Nurse.
  • Responds to requests from leadership in a timely fashion.
  • Anticipates need for and gathers patients comfort measures (i.e. warm blanket, pillows, positioning aids, etc.).
  • Maintains data within established guidelines; verifies requisitions, collects, prioritizes, records, organizes, distributes, evaluates, or processes data within timeframes of department.
  • Receives and completes work orders in a timely manner to achieve productivity results.
Common Duties
  • Maintains accountability by ensuring compliance thru timely completion of licensures, certifications, all competencies, health requirements (PPD, N95, Flu, etc.), and education requirements.
  • Maintains accountability and timekeeping expectations as outlined by NCHS Timekeeping and Attendance policy and procedures.  Ensures behavior is compliant with communication standards.
  • Ensures behavior meets and/or exceeds targeted service scores as measured by the Service Index and/or the internal departmental service survey.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • High School education or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting is desirable.
  • Ability to relate cooperative and constructively with patients, families, and co-workers using effective oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills with various patient populations.
  • Demonstrates understanding of assigned tasks and/or related information.
