Job Summary
Provides Epic product function, design, build, and testing expertise and experience for assigned Epic module related to Clinical applications. Collaborates with end users to design and build the Epic system in a timely and professional manner and make corrective configuration or enhancements.
Job Specific Duties
- Provides Epic product function, design, build, and testing expertise and experience for assigned Epic module related to Clinical applications.
- Collaborates with end users to design and build the Epic system in a timely and professional manner and make corrective configuration or enhancements.
- Leads small to medium complexity Epic software upgrade initiatives or enhancements to workflows including the design, build, and test phases.
- Participates in design and validation sessions and ensure appropriate documentation, follow-up and issue escalation occurs
- Provides technical and/or clinical consultation including application configuration. Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates system needs to develop recommendations for customers.
- Develops, supports, and maintains all required system design and build documents and other system documentation.
- Performs in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Epic software.
- Takes full ownership of assigned project or system.
Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems or related major (or) 4 years of related IT experience
- Clinical Epic certifications in 2 Epic modules
- 4-7 years of experience with implementations for large organizations
- 4-7 years of experience in change management processes for the success of IT projects
- 4-7 years direct experience in healthcare information systems development, implementation, and supporting clinical application systems
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Direct client healthcare domain knowledge such as clinical documentation workflow, order sets, orders workflows, patient portal, closing encounters, and patient flow.
- Experience in a complex setting such as Pediatric, tertiary, or quaternary health system preferred.
- Able to automate repeating processes and reports utilizing one or more toolsets.
- Able to translate end user requirements to IT requirements and enhance requirements based on industry or domain knowledge.
