Financial Operations Analyst (NCPS)

Job Summary

Works closely with the leadership of NCPS, the employed physician group, and the Finance departments.  Performs financial function, conducts statistical and analytical reviews, prepares and assists in the preparation of financial reports, budgeting, analysis, and clinical operations related to the employed physicians.

Job Specific Duties

  • Analyzes data and statistics, including physician productivity and compensation, to identify trends and variances. 
  • Provide analysis and data to support the NCPS’s strategic planning, growth, and development efforts. 
  • Prepares accurate financial and/or statistical reports for internal and external use by governmental agencies, financial institutions, or third-party agencies. 
  • Renders assistance to department Directors, Managers, and Service Line Administrators in preparing and reviewing data and systems. 
  • Supports clinical practices with the preparation of financial, operational, and management reports. 
  • Assisting with the development of operational strategic analysis in support of clinical operations. Reviews and prioritize requests for financial analysis or reports. 
  • Participates on teams, committees, and special projects both internal and external to the organization. Supports senior management and performs other assignments. 
  • Coordinates with the NCPS’s physician services and Finance on business related issues and best practices.
  • Oversees and maintains the physician’s productivity to comply with standards.  Analyzes and trends individual & group productivity performances.  Distributes monthly progress to staff physicians. 
  • Responsible for complying with physician’s pay for performance incentive program as stipulated in their contracts.  Manages and tracks quarterly and annual performance bonuses for physicians. 
  • Responsible for physician’s statistics and performs quality review, analysis, and trends for operational practice efficiencies. 
  • Provide crucial insight into business operations through analyses of practice operations, review of performance benchmarking, and assisting in business forecasting. 
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget related to physician compensation and benefits by preparing schedules and analyzing data for comparison and changes. 
  • Responsible for maintaining systems for compensation and survey reporting and performing monthly audits on key data fields to ensure accurate data and reports. 
  • Monitor physician agreements, contracts provisions, updates, and revisions. Assist in identification of areas of concerns for contracts and/or compensation requiring intervention or resolution. 
  • Analyze the physician practice financial efficiencies and provide feedback for improvements in financial operations. 

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance, or related field   
  • 1-3 years healthcare provider accounting experience or financial analytics experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • MBA preferred
  • Advanced knowledge in Excel.
  • Physician enterprise accounting and financial statement preparation preferred.
  • Understand physician group practice financials, reports, and tools.
  • Strong customer service, analytical, and financial skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with operational teams and understand the business of the service lines.
  • Excellent communication, and organization skills as well as aptitude for conflict resolution, and problem-solving.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians and all levels of personnel, both internal and external to the NCPS.
  • Knowledge of healthcare business planning, marketing, financial, and facilities management.
  • Skill in the use of complex mathematical and statistical techniques to assess financial and statistical scenarios.
  • Demonstrates competency in design, preparation of spreadsheets, and other financial reports.
  • Ability to utilize discretion and independent judgment to support the financial goals of the organization.
  • Communicates information in a clear, concise, and easy to understand manner for use by internal and external groups.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities.
