LPN- Employee Health Office (Full Time, Day shift)

Job Summary

Provides clinical nursing services under the supervision of registered nurses and champions health and safety by ensuring employees are optimally immunized and educated on risks of infection and workplace safety hazards within established protocols. 

Job Specific Duties

  • Administers immunizations and tuberculin skin tests.
  • Assists with respirator fit testing and provides safety education to employees.
  • Assists with urine drug screen specimen collection ensuring chain of custody.
  • Obtains laboratory specimens by phlebotomy and processes per hospital policy.
  • Performs periodic audits of employee health & safety requirements with outreach to employees.
  • Ensures accurate and timely data entry and recordkeeping of employee health documents.
  • Provides telephone consultation regarding employee health processes.
  • Contributes to quality performance improvement projects and assists in the preparation of reports as directed by Employee Health leadership.
  • Supports employee registration and assists with clerical duties and front desk operations.
  • Performs vital signs and point of care tests and communicates findings and observation to APRNs.
  • Provides nursing care to employees under the supervision of RN/APRN and accepts delegation to meet employee's health care needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements

  • LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse LPN Licensure within the State of Florida or Multi-State Enhanced Nursing License Compact (eNLC) – maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
  • CPR BLS -American Heart Association BLS American Heart Association (AHA) BLS - maintain active and in good standing throughout employment.
  • 1-3 years LPN experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience in employee health/ occupational health is highly recommended
  • Knowledge of ADA, Workers Comp, FMLA Regulations and OSHA desirable.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and react calmly under stressful conditions.
  • Collect data through observation and communicate information to assist RN/APRN in patient assessment and care planning.
