Job Summary

Provides leadership and manages Radiology business operations including executing strategies, planning, staffing, directing and management of multiple modalities. Ensures the delivery of quality imaging, diagnostic services and clinical care. Advocates for patients and family members and identifies opportunities to improve workflow and processes. Collaborates with Radiology Leadership, Radiology Medical Director, Physicians and stakeholders to drive operational excellence using evidence-based practice and advanced technology.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Business Management or Healthcare related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of management experiences in a Radiology/Imaging healthcare environment.
  • General X-Ray License from the State of Florida.
  • Previous experience managing multiple priorities.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications including Advanced Excel and Word.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages the business operations, provides leadership to staff, and responsible for hiring, staffing the department(s) to meet the business needs, developing and coaching employees and building high performance team(s). Responsible for supporting staff through orientation, training and annual performance reviews, and compliance with patient care quality standards. Adherence to regulatory requirements of the Joint Commission, federal, state, local regulatory laws and standards and hospital & department policies, procedures, and protocols. F: daily/T: 1-2 hours
  • Ensures overall operations of assigned services promote cost effective and coordinated services which are responsive to the needs of patients, patient’s family members, physicians, employees, administration and other departments. Advocates for patients and their family members to ensure needs are met throughout their entire continuum of care. F: daily/T: ongoing
  • Oversees and supervises day to day operations, effectively manages unplanned demands and challenges of respective areas of responsibility, assuring quality services and patient directed care. Coordinates and collaborates with stakeholders such as multidisciplinary teams, internal and external customers to create collaborative work relationships.F: daily/T: 1-2 hours
  • Identifies performance improvement initiatives and develops/executes strategies to improve business processes. Performs administrative duties such as collecting, analyzing and reporting data pertinent to department(s). F: daily/T: 15 - 60 minutes
  • Collaborates with Radiology Leadership team, Medical Director and Physicians to communicate service excellence and fostering a service excellence culture that ensures quality service and high quality clinical services and support. F: weekly/T: 30-60 minutes
  • Responsible for the financial performance of the assigned departments, develops and implements strategies to support the business plans, and assures service is consistently met in a high quality manner. Analyzes productivity and labor analysis and adjusts staff to meet budget and flexes staff to align to the patient volumes and create operational adjustments to ensure operating budgets targets are met. F: daily/ T: 30-60 minutes
  • Collaborates, supports and participates in business development initiatives to achieve organizational goals and increase market share. F: weekly/T: 30-120 minutes
  • Conducts department huddles and/or staff meetings, communicates hospital and department updates and Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) results. F: weekly/T: 10-30 minutes

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • MBA or Masters in Health Care Management/Administration preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, time management, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to use logical and scientific thinking to interpret technical data and solve a broad range of business problems.
  • Ability to trend and track productivity results and uses the data to predictive future scenarios.
  • Apply complex mathematical techniques to budget and provide productivity assessments.
  • Ability to learn, comprehend & apply information to resolve a problem or improve a business process.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective positive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, Radiology
  • Leaders, Physicians, Radiology Medical Director and staff.
  • Experience using Lean methodologies and tools to improve processes.
