Provides transport patients, laboratory specimens, pharmacy items, and clinical supplies throughout the hospital.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Attends staff meetings, department updates and all mandatory in-services.
- Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement to supervisor or others as appropriate.
- Manages data within established guidelines to collect, prioritize, record, organize, distribute, evaluate, or process data within timeframes of department.
- Performs messenger services including transportation of laboratory products, clinical supplies and pharmacy items to achieve productivity results in an effective and efficient manner.
- Precepts new employees and volunteers and oversees completion of pertinent documentation.
- Provides safe and age appropriate transportation of patients within all areas of the hospital according to established standards.
- Receives and completes work orders in a timely manner to achieve productivity results.
- Visually checks, cleans, maintains, and inventorying transportation equipment to uphold safety and risk operation standards.
- Works closely with patient care areas to coordinate efficient patient transport needs across multiple areas.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- High School education preferred
- Experience in a healthcare setting is desirable
- Demonstrates effective communication skills both verbal and written
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills with various patient populations
- Demonstrates use of proper body mechanics for lifting and positioning patients
