Outstanding Opportunity for Congenital Cardiac Anesthesiologist to Join
Prestigious Children’s Health System in South Florida

Nicklaus Children’s Health System and Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the health system’s physician-led multispecialty group practice, have an opportunity for a board-certified or board-eligible (BC/BE) Congenial Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join the nationally recognized Heart Institute.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited Anesthesiology Residency Program
  • Fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology or significant experience in Congenital Cardiac Anesthesia
  • Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology
  • Eligible for unrestricted Florida medical licensure
  • Strong clinical expertise in Congenital Heart Disease and Perioperative Cardiac Care

Practice Overview

  • Premier pediatric and congenital heart program offering a full spectrum of cardiovascular services, including complex congenital heart surgery, interventional catheterization, electrophysiology, fetal cardiology, advanced cardiac imaging, mechanical circulatory support, and heart failure and transplant programs
  • Cardiac surgical program recognized globally for transparency and innovation, including real-time outcomes reporting
  • Advanced Pediatric Care Pavilion with a 34-bed, fully telemetered cardiac inpatient unit designed for high-acuity patients
  • Multidisciplinary Heart Institute team including surgeons, cardiologists, cardiac anesthesiologists, intensivists, perfusionists, APPs, CRNAs/AAs and specialized nursing teams
  • Opportunities to participate in advanced cardiac programs including heart transplantation, VAD, ECMO, ACHD, and hybrid or robotic procedures
  • Broad clinical exposure across cardiac ORs, cath lab, EP lab, hybrid suites, imaging environments, and bedside settings
  • Management of complex cardiovascular physiology including cyanotic heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, heart failure, ECMO and VAD-supported patients
  • Strong academic environment with opportunities for teaching, research, conferences, quality initiatives, and program development

The Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Heart Institute is a nationally recognized center of excellence dedicated to providing world-class cardiac care to pediatric patients and individuals with congenital heart disease. Physicians practice in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment supported by advanced technology and facilities, delivering care across a wide range of cardiovascular procedures and clinical settings. The Congenial Cardiac Anesthesiologist provides perioperative care for neonatal, pediatric, and adult congenital heart patients while contributing to the continued growth of advanced cardiac programs.

Academic Affiliation

Our academic affiliation is with Florida International University (FIU). This position is eligible to apply for a faculty appointment at FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.

Each year, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital trains:

  • 84 pediatric residents and 2 chief residents
  • 49 subspecialty fellows in 17 distinct training programs
