Stellar Opportunity for Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon at Prestigious Children’s Hospital in Miami

Nicklaus Children's Hospital, a 325-bed freestanding children's hospital and ACS-verified Level I trauma center, along with Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the physician multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Children's Health System, is offering an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon with a focused interest and fellowship training in pediatric limb deformity and restoration to join the Orthopedic, Sports Medicine & Spine Institute.

This role is designed for a surgeon who is passionate about complex deformity care, the comprehensive surgical management of pediatric limb deformities and limb length discrepancies, including limb lengthening, deformity correction, and complex reconstruction. The physician will collaborate within a high-volume, multidisciplinary orthopedic team to advance and expand the limb deformity program, providing longitudinal care to children and adolescents with complex orthopedic needs.

The ideal candidate will serve as a referral resource for complex cases and contribute to program growth through patient care, collaboration, and academic engagement, further establishing Nicklaus Children’s as a leading destination for pediatric limb deformity care.

Qualifications

  • Board-certified Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon
  • Experience managing complex pediatric limb deformity and limb length discrepancy cases
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary care model
  • Interest in academic engagement, program development, and regional referral growth

About the Division of Pediatric Orthopedics

Our current team includes 11 orthopedic surgeons with subspecialties such as spine, orthopedic oncology, limb differences and length discrepancies, sports medicine, trauma, cerebral palsy, and neuromuscular disorders. We also have highly skilled physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse coordinators, orthopedic technicians, athletic trainers, support staff, residents, and fellows. 

  • Our physicians perform approximately 1,500 surgical procedures annually
  • The pediatric orthopedic surgery practice has approximately 35,000 outpatient visits across multiple locations

The Kenneth C. Griffin Surgical Tower

Nicklaus Children's Health System opened the Kenneth C. Griffin Surgical Tower in September 2024. This five-story, 131,000-square-foot facility elevates the hospital’s surgical capabilities, combining a patient-centered environment with cutting-edge technology. The Griffin Surgical Tower, located in the heart of the campus, features state-of-the-art operating rooms equipped with the latest technology and surgical teams.

Additionally, the Orthopedic, Sports Medicine & Spine Institute relocated to a new 19,000-square-foot facility in 2025. This new space includes 18 exam rooms, three cast rooms, two conference rooms, and an imaging suite featuring two x-ray machines and a state-of-the-art EOS imaging machine. This new institute space represents an exciting milestone, as all Orthopedic, Sports Medicine, and Spine services will now be housed in one central location on the main campus and facilitate a more seamless experience for families and patient care.

Academic Affiliation

Employed staff benefit from affiliations with our educational partner, Florida International University (FIU). These positions include a faculty appointment at FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.

Each year, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital trains:

  • 84 pediatric residents and 2 chief residents

  • 49 subspecialty fellows in 17 distinct training programs
