Seeking Pediatric Physiatrist to Join Renowned Orthopedic, Sports Medicine & Spine Institute in South Florida

Nicklaus Children’s Health System and Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the health system’s physician-led multispecialty group practice, have an opportunity for a board-certified or board-eligible (BC/BE) Pediatric Physiatrist to join the Orthopedic, Sports Medicine & Spine Institute. The focus of this role is on the medical orthopedic management of children with chronic, long-term needs providing specialized care to children/adolescents with conditions such as spinal, orthopedic oncology, limb deformities and length discrepancies, sports-related injuries, fractures and traumatic injuries, cerebral palsy, and neuromuscular disorders, collaborating closely with orthopedic surgeons.  

Qualifications 

  • Board-certified/eligible Pediatric Physiatrist with additional expertise in musculoskeletal disorders focusing on physical impairments, skilled in gait analysis, orthotic prescriptions and bracing, casting for contractures and specialty mobility aids
  • Strong clinical, research, and teaching abilities

  • 11 orthopedic surgeons with subspecialties such as spine, orthopedic oncology, limb deformities and length discrepancies, sports medicine, trauma, cerebral palsy, and neuromuscular disorders
  • Highly skilled physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse coordinators, orthopedic technicians, athletic trainers, support staff, residents, and fellows
  • 1,600 surgical cases annually
  • 32,000 outpatient visits across multiple locations in three counties 

The Orthopedic, Sports Medicine & Spine Institute at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital includes:

  • 19,000-square-foot facility
  • 18 exam rooms
  • Three cast rooms
  • Two conference rooms
  • Imaging suite featuring two x-ray machines and a state-of-the-art EOS imaging machine

Academic Affiliation

Our academic affiliation is with Florida International University (FIU). Each year, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital trains:

  • 84 pediatric residents and 2 chief residents
  • 49 subspecialty fellows in 17 distinct training programs
