Job Summary

Responsible for data management to include statistical analysis and maintaining outcome measurements. Utilizes technical skills to create reports from several organizational databases. Works in collaboration with other departments of the organization in obtaining and providing data for reports and graphical displays. 

Job Specific Duties

  • Serves as primary contact for quality-related data and reports for hospital leadership.
  • Assists leaders with strategic goal development and monitoring for the organizational Quality Pillar, quality scorecards, and external presentations.
  • Works with leadership in the identification/development of corrective action or PI plans through monitoring of quality data, national collaborative reports, or other processes of quality validation. 
  • Utilizes statistical expertise to research and identify benchmarks for key quality indicators.
  • Develops reports and conducts statistical analysis utilizing a variety of internal and external data sources. 
  • Maintains a current database management system on multiple repositories utilizing a variety of internal and external data resources to assure archival, security, and retrieval.
  • Utilizes PI tools (i.e. Lean Methodology, Process/Flow Charts, Pareto Charts, etc.) to communicate data values and trends for use in PI teams, task force groups, reports and presentations. 
  • Prioritizes and ensures accuracy of information contained in reports/presentations. 
  • Creates reports from several organizational databases and collaborates with other organizational departments in obtaining and providing data for reports and graphical displays. 
  • Provides supporting documentation for reports and databases created.
  • Presents and communicates data analysis and performance improvement recommendations and strategies to project teams, leadership, and task force groups. 

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Health Services Administration or related field (Required)
  • 3-5 years Business Administration, Statistics, and/or Healthcare Quality and Performance Improvement experience
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Visio

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Master's Degree in Health Services Administration or related field preferred
  • Ability to use logical and scientific thinking to interpret technical data; understands and effectively applies concepts of data integrity and validation.
  • Supports director-level leadership through data interpretation, identification of gaps and opportunities, recommending and developing action plans to improve performance on identified key quality metrics.
  • Expertise in complex graphing and charting (i.e. Control charts, run charts, etc.) and understanding of statistical techniques, processes and methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate and work effectively in cross-functional teams and present quality concepts, ideas, and recommendation to others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of protected health information and other sensitive information.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects by setting priorities, collaborating in a team environment, and utilizing effective time management skills.
  • Continuously improving professional growth and expertise through participation in relevant training and education.
  • Reacts effectively to unplanned circumstances, demands and challenges facing the hospital and in the particular assigned area of responsibility.
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills.
  • Applies the principles of evidence-based practice, operational and service excellence, and effective methodologies for goal-setting or benchmarking.
