Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining outcome measurements including statistical analysis. Creates reports from several organizational databases and collaborates with other departments of the organization in obtaining and providing data for reports and graphical displays. Applies the principles of evidenced-based practice, analytical thinking and service excellence in practice.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Statistics, and/or Computer Science required.
  • A minimum of three years of sophisticated computer usage and statistical analysis experience.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Visio).
  • Complex graphing and charting (i.e. Control charts, run charts, etc.) and understanding of statistical techniques, processes and methodologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Primary contact for quality-related data for hospital leadership.
  • Responsible for maintaining outcome measurements including statistical analysis.
  • Creates reports from several organizational databases and collaborates with other departments of the organization in obtaining and providing data for reports and graphical displays.
  • Assists in strategic goal development and monitoring for Quality Pillar, Clinical Excellence Index and national award submissions.
  • Supports hospital’s leaders to identify the need for & develops action plans through Clinical Excellence Index data, Nat’l Collaborative and department report cards.
  • Uses statistical expertise to research and identify benchmarks for key quality indicators.
  • Develops reports and conducts statistical analyses using a variety of internal and external data sources.
  • Utilizes various performance improvement tools such as flow charts, Pareto & other visual graphing models to communicate data values & trends.
  • Presents and communicates data analysis and performance improvement recommendations and strategies to project teams, leadership and task forces.
  • Maintains a current database management system on multiple repositories using a variety of internal and external data resources to assure archive, security, and retrieval.
  • Prioritizes and ensures accuracy of information contained in reports/presentations.
  • Provides support documentation for reports and databases created.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities collaborates in a team environment and time management skills.
  • Utilizes logical and scientific thinking to interpret technical data and solve a broad range of operations.
  • Interprets data, identified gaps, opportunities, recommends and develops action plans to improve business results.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in cross-functional teams and present ideas/recommendations to others.
  • Maintains confidentiality of protected health information and other sensitive information.
  • Reacts effectively to unplanned circumstances, demands and challenges facing the hospital and in the particular assigned area of responsibility.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to present information to small and large teams.
  • Works effectively in a collaborative environment and follow the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Nursing Leader.
