Research Assistant- Trauma (Full Time, Day shift)

Job Summary

Participates and coordinates research projects in the trauma program. Works closely with clinical investigators in maintaining research databases, data analysis, as well as, drafting clinical research protocols and manuscripts.

Job Specific Duties

  • Responsible for working closely with clinical investigators within trauma program, NCH Research Institute staff and other health care providers.  
  • Assists in the development of research projects, writing of manuscripts, and submitting of manuscripts for publication.  
  • Assists study staff with any concerns or questions by promptly providing the information and feedback as requested.  
  • Enters data in databases, generates reports, performs data/database maintenance, performs data tracking, and performs queries.
  • Maintains and updates patient information in database; ensures data is collected, entered, and reported appropriately and completely.  
  • Provides feedback to clinical and administrative staff in Research regarding any concerns; ensures database reflects documentation of the patient record and update when needed.  
  • Provides reports on grant progress and assists in troubleshooting.
  • Serves as liaison between clinician investigators and other departments involved with the study. 

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in the biomedical or clinical sciences.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Working knowledge and coursework in statistics.
  • Familiarity with the computer based tracking systems.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Able to relate cooperatively and constructively with co-workers.
  • Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
