Exceptional Opportunity for BC/BE Pediatric Nephrologist at Prestigious Children’s Health System in South Florida

Nicklaus Children's Health System and Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS), the health system’s physician multispecialty group practice, is recruiting a BC/BE fellowship trained pediatric nephrologist to join our team. The primary focus will be to provide exceptional clinical care, which includes inpatient and outpatient care across all aspects of nephrology including AKI, CKD and ESKD, as well as inpatient acute and outpatient chronic renal replacement therapy. Candidates should possess a passion for advocacy and improving care for all children, which includes delivering on Nicklaus Children’s promise of a care environment where every child matters most.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will be instrumental in meeting our burgeoning needs for expansion throughout South Florida. Our division works closely with other outstanding programs including pediatric urology, pediatric rheumatology and neurology, along with other highly specialized inpatient and outpatient multidisciplinary clinics.

About the Division of Nephrology

The Division of Nephrology treats kidney disorders and provides comprehensive evaluation of renal functions, including kidney biopsies. Nicklaus Children’s Hospital was the first hospital in Florida to offer the Mozarc Medical’s Carpediem™ Cardio Renal Pediatric Dialysis Emergency Machine designed to support dialysis treatment of newborns with acute kidney injury and fluid overload.

Our team currently has 4 full-time pediatric nephrologists and 1 full-time nurse practitioner, with plans for future growth and expansion.

The division had the following patient encounters in 2025:

  • 7,500 patient encounters (inpatient and outpatient)
  • 2,000 chronic outpatient treatments in the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Pediatric
    Dialysis Unit
  • 500 inpatient treatments

Academic Affiliation

Employed staff benefit from affiliations with our educational partner, Florida International University (FIU). These positions include a faculty appointment at FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. Each year, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital trains:

  • 84 pediatric residents and 2 chief residents
  • 49 subspecialty fellows in 17 distinct training programs
